Fitting Guide

Your Guide to the Perfect Fit.

Tomato Glasses are a one-of-a-kind and the most innovative product on the children’s eyewear market for their ability to be tailor-fitted to each child. Follow the below instructions to achieve a perfect fit.

Step 1: Adjusting the temple lengths

Adjust the length of temples so that the ear tips fit and curved closely behind the ears. There should be no gaps.

To shorten the temples, remove the ear tups exposing the guide lines as illustrated, and trim as required. If the temples are too short, pull the eartip backwards to the required position.

Fix the tips to the temples by using only the screws provided (one screw for each side). Tighten the screw so that the screw head lies flush, as shown in the diagram below.

This process should be regularly reassessed as your child grows to ensure they are a good and comfortable fit.

Step 2: Adjusting the position of the nosepad

There are 3 sets of holes to fix the nose pad onto the frame front (5 holes on the TBAC baby frames). The nose pad is fixed on the middle hole at the time of delivery. The nose pad can be unscrewed as an entire unit and moved up or down a hole to gain the correct fit. Different sized nosepads are available and are interchangeable across all ranges.

For some children with solid bridges, the nosepad can be removed all together if this achieves a good fit.

Step 3: Using the headband

A headband is included in all purchases of Tomato Glasses to give you the choice of using it or not.

The strap should hang down on the back of the neck. Do not tighten the strap too much in order to ensure a comfortable fit.

Important Information for Optometrists

Tomato Glasses frames are made from TR90 material and should be cold glazed. Do not expose the frames to heat.

Alcohol and solvent-based cleaners should not be used on the glasses. Lenses must be inserted from the back of the frame.
